For my part, I’ll apologize. None of us should burden our hosts with clean-up. But I perceived, intentional or not, obfuscation, which I found frustrating. I’ll commit to be patient, understanding and charitable in my interpretation if others can offer detailed, informative points that fill out their conjectures with specifics.
Liz, you may want to enlist some other moderators, who you feel our conducting themselves in the spirit of the board.
In my scaling, I didn’t scale up the distances. But energies (work) go as force multiplied by distance.
So if we scaled up the corresponding distances from the atomic level to the macroscopic level, we would be scaling distances on the order of 10^10 meters up to meters.
So, if we also scaled the distances, the energies would go as 47 x 10^10 megatons for each electron volt.
The point remains, electromagnetic interactions among atoms and molecules are not trivial.

I don’t know how to make the editor work to correct a mistake I find after posting the comment, but here is the correction.
We are scaling from 10^(-10) meters up to meters. The factor of 10^10 remains correct.
I’m closing this thread, in case its length is the cause of the downtime.

Thanks to all.
I’m sure that GAs will come up again 🙂
