Is that a kind of hypocrisy?
You ought to thank me for not mucking up your thread.
As for deleting my comment, it was a simple mistake on your part. I’m sure you were just trying to be kind. 🙂

This is in my repertoire don’cha know. The best version was the faster version on the B side of Little Hitler. I also know a guy who knows the guy who co-wrote it. That makes me somebody.

No, I was hoping it would be moved to guano, where it belongs.
The insinuation that all atheists are kind is a gross and unsupportable generalization that has no basis in reality. I demand a retraction!
Edit: Since I’m new(ish) around here and don’t post very much, this is just to point out that I’m totally kidding. 🙂
What is your point, Mung?
I hope Mung will consider your question in both the narrow and the broad sense.
I think Mung’s point, if he has one, is the usual. He wonders how or why a human might decide to be kind in the absence of any incentive to do so provided by a god either directly or through a holy book or other intermediary.
If such incentives are the only reasons he can imagine for being kind, let us all give thanks that he has found them.
Or on the other hand, he just was willing to go to the trouble of making an OP to make a lame allusion to a good song. In which case all I can say is “I knew the bride when she used to rock ‘n’ roll”.
ETA: After seeing Mung’s clarification below I guess maybe I was confusing him with WJM. My apologies.
WoW. LoL.
My point is that I found the title of this OP offensive and decided to offer a kinder gentler alternative.
Atheists are kind pretty much for the same reason other people are kind. Kindness isn’t the sole province of Christians.
What’s a “code” and what’s a “real code” Mung? Your claim.

Agreed. Religious belief seems pretty orthogonal to kindness.

I agree with Elizabeth. Human personality traits are unrelated to religion.
If there is a lesson in all this, it is that some posts are self tarnishing. If I were truly an enemy of religion, I would encourage Phoodoo and Gregory to post more often.
Got first reply!
In the right measure, you know.
What matters is that it hurts so good.
I don’t know why I like it rough, but I like it rough.
Glen Davidson
Scarcity increases value.

It’s not the pain he craves, but rather the feeling when the pain stops.
Don’t ask me know I know this. You really don’t want to know.
OMagain,
Glen will be so miffed 😉

Right on.
For example, I’m into it for the chicks. 😉
Thanks, Mung.
Some days, you’re wonderful.
Don’t get me wrong. I’m not suggesting that we all start loving one another or any of that crap!
😉
Don’t kiss me, Kate.
I don’t know about the rest of y’all, but I’m taking off my big boy pants right now!
Eww.
Don’t worry, I’ve got the pull-ups on underneath.
That’s very kind of you.
